Ray Lara, 24, was born on Aug. 13, 1986 in Victoria, TX., and went to be with his “Lord & Savior” on Oct. 4, 2010.
Ray “The Good Samaritan” was exactly that. There was nothing he would not do to help anyone and everyone. He went out of his way to help a stranger to the very end. He was a loving son, father, husband, brother and friend. Ray loved fishing, being in the water, hunting and anything that had to do with being outdoors. He was the family clown, always joking around and making everyone laugh. Ray enjoyed his life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ray is preceded in death by his paternal grand parents; Blas and Clemencia Lara.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his Girlfriend, Jennifer Ramirez; 2 Sons, Christopher Ray Lara, Anthony Ray Lara; Parents, Roberto and Frances Lara; Brothers, Roberto Lara Jr., Rene Lara; Sister, Rubina Ann Lara; maternal grand parents, Santos and Juanita Cano; along with numerous family, friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors on Fri., Oct. 8, 2010 from 2pm to 8:30 pm with a Rosary being held at 6:30pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Sat., Oct. 9, 2010 at St. Michael Church, 9202 Main St., Needville, TX. Rite of Committal will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Rosenberg.
The Lara family has set a memorial fund acct. for donations in Ray’s name with Prosperity Bank in Needville and Victoria. Donations may also be sent to E.P. Compean Funeral Directors.
