Needville Area Wreck Claims Two Lives

A  motor vehicle accident near Highway 36 and Foster School Road late Tuesday night,claimed the lives of Kyle  Gauss, age 17, and Derrick Cruz, age 19, both from Rosenberg, Texas.

The accident occurred around 8 p.m Tuesday, January 8, 2013,  during rainy conditions.

Officers responding to the scene made the determination that a Ford Focus driving eastbound on Foster School Road ran the stop sign at Highway 36 and struck a Peterbilt truck travelling north. Passengers Gauss and Cruz were pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Gary Jannsen around 8:30 p.m., while driver Jesus Villalobos, age 19, of Richmond, Texas, suffered injuries and was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Sugar Land and was listed in critical condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
